OMG, I am so behind! This has been one crazy busy summer.  Will try to do short posts with lots of pictures to catch up 🙂

So lets get back almost a month!

On Monday (June 4) Yurka and I went to see Man In Black III in Promenade where they run movies for mommies and babies. It was fun and Ilyusha behaved. He slept through almost all movie, but at the end ended up in my arms. When the light was turned back on ALL of the babies were in their mommies’ arms. Even though they say that the sound volume is lower in those movies, it was still pretty loud as it was an action movie 🙂

After movies, all three of us hung out at the mall for a bit and had lunch.

After we got home, I wanted for Ilyusha to entertain himself a bit, and tried the jumper again. Yurka had a great idea on how to make Ilyusha more comfortable. We just piled a few book underneath and it worked!

Tuesday (June 5)  Ilyusha and mommy spent playing together.

I’ve noticed that Ilyusha not just looking at the toys that are hanging above him, but also started to reach for them and try to put in his mouth. Like with this elephant toy. He loves to reach and hold the hoops.

In the evening, I went to the mall with Yulka and daddy was in charge of feeding and putting Ilyusha to bed.  Everything went smoothly and when I got home, Ilyusha was sound asleep.

Wednesday (June 6). Ilyusha decided that he didn’t feel like sleeping and was very fussy during the night and all day. I was getting so exhausted that when he wouldn’t go to sleep for his afternoon nap, I just took him in my arms and lay down with him in my bed. Ilyusha was sleeping and I also dozed off a bit.  We woke up when daddy got home 2 hours later.  After we put him down for the night and went downstairs, I looked at the monitor and couldn’t see him (which was strange as where could he go). Well, he turned 90 degrees and was sleeping across his bed!

Here is some more pictures of Ilyusha reaching and holding onto toys. I used some hooks and hung the ball above Ilyusha so he can reach it if he likes, and he did enjoy playing with this ball for a while (which was great for me as I could just lay next to him and watch).

Thursday (June 7)

So on Tuesday he was playing with the elephant, and on Wednesday, it was the ball. I hung both of those toys and watched which one he like more.  Initially he grabbed both, but then the ball won!

Sometimes, before breast feeding Ilyusha, I sit him in my feeding chair so I can take off my shirt (it just makes it easier for me to feed him).

“Mommy, where is my milk?”                       “Oh, I see it now!!!”

      

Don’t worry, I am right there leaning against the chair, so there is no way Ilyusha can slide anywhere.

 

As we were walking along Thornhill Woods Dr. on our usual walk. And who do I see walking on the other side of the road along the forest…. a fox!!! By the time I took out my phone to take a picture, it went into the forest and all I could photographs was the tail 🙂

And changing Ilyusha is becoming a bit more challenging, as grabs both his clothes and a burp clothe that covers against accidents and tries to put it in his mouth!

Plus he tries to swivel his legs off the changing pad. Now have to take him with me every time I need to get something for his change.

On Friday (June 8) Ilyusha and I went to a park in Kleinberg with Julia and Dashenka. We had an amazing time, as it was nice and cool in the shade. Everyone enjoyed the walk (even though we didn’t get far).  Sorry, no pics.

That night, Ilyusha did a trick on us. When I went to check on him after he fell asleep I found his head where his legs should be. He turned a whole 180 degrees in his crib!!! and he is still swaddled in a woombie!

Saturday (June 9) We had breakfast at my parents’ house and did some shopping. But the most excitement happened at night. I fed Ilyusha at 11 p.m. for his dream feed. As I was putting him back to his crib, carefully trying not to wake him up, a huge fountain of milk came out of his mouth.  I’ve never seen so much milk coming out of him before (nor since).  I had to change myslef, change Ilyusha, and everything in his crib down to the mattress. It took a while and we didn’t all settle down until after midnight.

Sunday (June 10) was a quiet day at home.  As I was going through toys that Ilyusha had, I found a mobile, which I assembled myself and attached to his crib.  Ilyusha was very excited, and I think that instead of helping him to sleep, it actually keeps him awake. I decided that I’ll use it more for entertainment and will leave it out of his bed time routine.

The pics below remind us that we have to be on top of Ilyusha’s nails that grow like crazy and are sharp like little razors. The poor little guy scratched his beautiful face and I had to put mittens on him to prevent further incidents.

We actually started to prop Ilyusha up in the pillows and also help him sit up by holding his arms. He likes this game and is already trying to sit up  by himself leading with his head and shoulders.
