14 weeks (June 18 – 24)

Busy week continues! My phone camera was not working properly, so not that many pictures this week.

Monday (June 18)

I really wanted to see the third Madagascar movie, so when I saw that it was coming up at mommy&baby movie, I had to be there. Babulya also wanted to see it so off to the movies we went. The bonus…. it was in 3D. So mommy and Babulya were sporting coll 3D glasses and Ilyusha couldn’t miss that too. He decided that he wants to watch the movie as well. He was not content with just seating and sleeping in his car seat and spent part of the movie in mommy’s arms looking at other people wearing glasses. He did finally fall asleep … for the 20 min at the end of the movie! Even though I spent a lot of time in the isle, trying to get Ilyusha to sleep, I did enjoy this movie a lot!!! When the movie was over, Ilyusha was still sleeping (notwithstanding that it was time for his feeding), so I was hoping I can get home before he wakes up. Yea right! Ilyusha was up the moment we reached our car in the parking lot, and then it was a mad dash to find a place to feed. The line up at the feeding place was humongous, so we run to Sears and asked to use one of their change rooms (and a nice lady there gave us the biggest room, so we could fit in the stroller!)

Tuesday (June 19)

Today, my friend, Joanna, came over for a visit. She played with Ilyusha a bit and promised to come back with her girls. Ilyusha also got a cool new toy and two sets of clothes.

In the evening, after we put Ilyusha down for the night, Ilyusha turned over from his back to his tummy by wiggling his legs high in the air (he was swaddled). As our pediatrician was very adamant that it is too early for Ilyusha to sleep on his tummy, we got out rollers for him to sleep with so he would not be rolling around in his sleep.

Wednesday (June 20)

First of all it was HOT outside, it was really really HOT!!! In addition we had a very busy day planned for Ilyusha & I.

First was a play date at Toma’s house. She has a nice pool, but because it was so hot, we could only spend a few minutes outside before hurrying up inside. Here are some pictures from our gathering.

Once we got home, we only had a few moments to rest as it was our uncle Emil’s birthday! and we were getting ready for his birthday party. Since there were a lot of people the party was held outside. Ilyusha spent some time going from one set of arms to another, and then it was time for his evening feed and bed time. We put Ilyusha upstairs in Julia & Emil’s house, but he wasn’t that crazy about sleeping in a different place and it took forever for him to actually fall asleep. Mommy was exhausted and needed a drink (virgin though). Luckily, once he felt asleep he didn’t stir until it was time for his night feeding (when we took him home).

Thursday (June 21)

Was Ilyusha’s 3 month check up. He is growing up fast!

His weight was 7.22 kg

Height 68 cm

Head size 41 cm

Overall, his pediatrician was happy with the progress Ilyusha is making!

Friday (June 22)

It was a quiet day, and then in the afternoon Kira came with Antoshka to see Ilyusha and brought a present for him (a top and jeans shirts 🙂 )

My camera on the phone started to work again, so I’ve been snapping pictures of Ilyusha during the day.

Ilyusha had a very rough time sleeping during his nap time, so I did what I wasn’t supposed to do. I took him to sleep with me. Here are some pics. Finally some peace and quiet…

Then, he had fun with his burp cloth!!! Why buy expensive toys? A simple cloth is much more interesting!

We’ve been going to Shabbat dinner to either my sister’s place or to Alla & Sasha’s place, but this week decided to do it at home. It actually felt very nice to do the Shabbat prayers as our little family of 3.

Saturday (June 23)

Daddy was in charge in the morning as I had to run some errands. After I was done, the three of us went to have breakfast at Bagel World. The remainder of the day was pretty quiet.

I put Ilyusha in his swing to take care of some business and gave him his two favourite toys.

I came back to find him like this (making this face) The closer look revealed that he had his arm through a hanging hook. How did he manage that?

We also started sitting Ilyusha on the sofa when we are right there next to him. He looks pretty comfy 🙂

As we started to get ready for the trip, Ilyusha wanted to be with us all the time, so Yurka had him in his snuggly. Not sure what this look says!

Sunday (June 24)

We spent some time outside to prepare a big boy stroller. The bassinet in the stroller was getting too small for Ilyusha, plus Ilyusha was not content anymore with just laying around and watching the sky (or more particularly the hood of the bassinet). So the decision was made to change it to the sitting stroller before the trip. Hope he likes it.

Yurka prepared a nice dinner (even if it doesn’t look appetizing on the photo, it was very yummy). Ilyusha was at the dinner table (counter) with us. Looking at his reaction, he is already ready for something more solid than breast milk.

“Hmmm… what do you have there?” “F… milk! I want this!” “I can’t have this…. sad” (печально)
