Monday (August 20)
Another regular weekday. First, Ilyusha played in his jumperoo.
Then it was time for some quiet play. Look how he is sitting by himself already (with minimal propping) 🙂
As Ilyusha was getting bored just sitting by himself I moved a musical toy closer to him as you can see he was only interested for a bit and then his legs were more entertaining. He unbuttoned his legs again!
Yep, still bored!
Chewing toy to the rescue! I just LOVE his face and emotions when he is chewing on something …. PRICELESS!
My baby just woke up after a nap. Such a “lost” impression on his face 🙁
He saw his mommy (and her camera) A big sneeze and he is up and smiling 🙂
Tuesday (August 21)
I love his dog toy as it has a few nice children’s songs that Ilyusha loves, so I have it handy just in case (when Ilyusha gets cranky).
Ilyusha realized that the toy is right next to his changing pad and focused on trying to put it in his mouth.
The ear was too far. The leg was much closer! “What, mommy? I am not doing anything!”
After being fed, some quiet time with his toys,
and then tummy time. This time the music toy (and the mat it is on) is much more interesting

until we get tired and show it to mommy.
Yura and I went through the clothes that we had for Ilyusha (up to 6 months) and found a few nice outfits. I loved overalls as they are not as tight around the waist as pants are and as such more comfortable. I wanted to take a picture of the outfit, and here what happened:
The second I put him down he started crying, and even his toy didn’t help right away, but then his curiosity got the best of him 🙂
Once I took the toy away, the hands started flying
“No, no more pictures!!!” “Are you done, mommy?”
When daddy came home, different kind of fun began!
Ilyusha is “flying” right into the camera Happy baby, happy daddy!
Love is in the air – a big hug from daddy “Mommy, look how tall I am!!!”
Wednesday (August 22)
Again, an ordinary day. My mom came over during the day. When she left, and after Ilyusha’s nap and feeding, we went for a walk. That’s what usually happens. Ilyusha is cranky as he wants to sleep, but he only falls asleep when we are going on the sidewalk. Well… our street doesn’t have one, and I have to keep my little guy entertained until we reach the closest one. The chewing toy definitely works for a bit. Check it out.
We did get a highchair, but every time I put Ilysha there before making his cereal, he starts crying (he is cranky as he is hungry). So I decided to start sitting him in his highchair at different times during the day so he can get used to the idea. So far so good… no toys and no crying. Yei!!! Look how happy (or at least content) he is!
Thursday (August 23)
Ilyusha usually gets upset after I feed him the last spoon of his cereal, so in order for him not to have a fit, I give him the spoon to chew on.
Ilyusha after finishing his meal, but before being cleaned. As daddy always says: “Илюша, сделай хрю хрю!” (Ilyusha, say oink oink!)

After late morning feed, we were off to my parents’ house. Ilyusha fell asleep in the car and didn’t want to nap much. So he was enjoying lunch with us. Babulya had to move her plate far away, as Ilyusha was grabbing it!
After we left my parents’ house, we were supposed to go to the store, but the traffic was so bad that we decided to pick up daddy instead and then go shopping together. We had to go to a few stores to prepare for the baby shower I was hosting that Sunday. The three of us also went to Me Va Me for dinner, and Ilyusha did pretty well considering he didn’t have his afternoon nap.
Friday (August 24)
We put Ilyusha on his side for night and naps. When I came in to check on him in the morning that’s how he was sleeping… with his leg up on one of the rollers! Like mommy, like son! (Mommy loves her body pillow 🙂 )
Unfortunately that nap didn’t last, but since he was still very tired, he did sleep in my arms. I know it is a NO NO, but I don’t do it very often and this was an isolated incident. As I haven’t had him sleeping in my arms for some time, when I sat down in my feeding chair holding Ilyusha, I realized how much he grew! His legs were protruding much further than before (plus, he weights much more and my arm became numb much faster).
So peaceful!!! I do love holding him in my arms.
Deepper in his sleep, no need for a pacifier!
After a good nap, its time for play! The best part of a toy is ….. LABEL!
New outfit, another photo shoot! This time around his toy was his big toe! and yes, he is sitting on his own (with me just an arm’s reach away).
Oh, oh, the leaning tower of Pizza! Nope, regained his balance!
When daddy got home, it was time for Shabbat prayers and Ilyusha, as always, was a part of it.
Saturday (August 25)
We had a cleaning lady in the morning, so were off to my parents’ house for breakfast. The weather was nice so we all decided to go for a walk. Baba Lyuba was with us as well. My dad and Yura took out bikes and had a nice ride. When we got back to the house, it was time to say goodbye to my parents and head out. We stopped by a couple of stores and then went for sushi. After we dropped of baba Lyuba, we decided to go for another walk, just three of us, and as we were getting ready Ilyusha grabbed a shoehorn from the key hanger and didn’t want to let it go. 🙂
“I am not letting it go!”
After Ilyusha was asleep for the night, I had to finish up decorations for the baby shower.
Finally finished with preparing all decorations for the party. Here is a pic of my handy work 🙂
Sunday (August 26)
A very hectic and tiring day. In the morning right after 11:30 am feeding, our little family headed to Amulet banquet hall to wish Eden a happy birthday (actually her birth). As soon as we entered the hall Ilyusha became a star. He met Eden’s daddy Artzi, her mommy Dana, and our friends Marina & Udi, plus, of course, auntie Julia and uncle Emil.
Here Ilyusha with his auntie Julia (you can see Yura & Dana on the background).
After spending a few minutes at the hall we hurried back home for a nap (which unfortunately was very short). Ilyusha wanted to meet all the guests that were coming for the baby shower mommy was hosting for her best friend, Suzana. Ilyusha also made an appearance at least twice during the party as everyone wanted to meet him. He also went for a long walk with daddy. When the party was over at around 7 p.m. we were off to meet my parents as it was their wedding anniversary. I fed Ilyusha at my parents’ place and he fell asleep in his car seat, and the four of us (Yurka, my parents and I) just unwound after a very hectic and tiring day.
Unfortunately, since mommy was busy with hosting the party, I didn’t have a chance to be in many pictures. Here is one with Sasha (the only one that I have on my phone).
We had another baby in the house and Ilyusha was making friends. Look how happy Ilyusha is! (He is my social butterfly! He is held by Suzana’s aunt, while the other baby is held by Suzana’s mom.
